I may not have posted in the last year   but I still craft it a knitted hat , a batch of playdough ,a sign or poster Im still doing something   I hope the bloggers who have disappeared are tooo.....

My most recent  makes were at the  GBCF  I've discovered fun with powertex
well messy crafting is what does it for me LOL

Bank holiday and its miserable and soggy

and I feel happy along with it today but not in the mood for crafting today........Oh yes I'm back posting on my journal of life. Its been a very strange year since the last post, still working at varied jobs now and found a love of driving after passing my test.

My  craft journey well that one  has been a chore to get back into and life almost  got me to throw it all away.Losing a loved family member does that I guess and  you start asking yourself whats important in life and I've figured its being happy either with yourself or in life in general.
That is all you can ask for  a happy moment of each day can keep you going in all of life's difficulties.
Be it listening to the rain fall outside and your all snuggled up in bed, a phone call from someone just to say hello, or  a smile from a member of your loving family that you  know just means yep  we're here and its ok. Life is just  about being happy.
So I've spent some fab times with my  friends keeping happy and I've made some cards and found my mojo coming back ever so slowly.
Copics at the ready again with those new images I keep seeing and wanting  and I may post a few more creations in the near future.

Watch this space.

Seeeeee I made some cards

Ive had these decoupage sheets sitting in my  box forever well since I last went in my shed  they were in my to do  box and well I'm ready  to get on with the things to do The first couple of cards are La Pashe decoupage I did have another one  but  the picture has gone awol.

oh well....   its for my sister anyway so  best not to put it up before her birthday.
I'm as usual  sticking to  simples technique...  whilst getting back into things my copics are still gathering  huge amounts of dust and I know I'm not ready to play with them for a while yet but after clearing out the cob webs and  dead bugs and rubbish from my shed  I had a clear space and what  better than  to   make a few cards  and create a mess again.
I used some simple matt and layering and used a bit of silicone for the decoupage. The  two cards  here are wellington die cuts and  decoupage sheets that I picked up  at a local shop  cant remember where now  but I did find them  really cute. So you see I have been crafty  and Ive been  busy making  jewellery since   AM  and I have another fabulous  crafty weekend  with my  fabulous daughter   to look forward in october too  so life is  good  and    Im happy  getting life back on track  and  living each day as it comes
  Catch me soon

January, February, March, April May June July Aug................

...................... is it time to come out of  hibernation yet.
 How  you  doing  peeps
My blog has been  neglected. yep  all  too soon the days turned into weeks and then months again and all  the cobwebs have been left to catch the bugs in the shed.
Can I say I've been busy well  with  life...... welllll I guess yes, and work.....a definate  yes, with crafting........ NO
and there were decisions, decisions,of  do I delete my blog or not...........
well as my blog was originally a place to put  my mumblings as well as my bumblings through craft stuff  then I decided it should stay (and I should use it more note to self ).
My crafting time well there has been none ..... none at all unless you can call making play dough  and making paper planes and fans  craft. That is until  the annual visit to appleby magna  occurred in  June this year. ( and I have to say my makes were fun and I did get the urge to enter my shed where all the bugs are making new homes quite nicely in my button box ewwwe
and I did get the urge to buy new  bits and pieces that was fun  purchasing crafty bits again and stroking them hehehehe)
All things to go on the to do list
WELLLLL .... What can I say I have many things in the pipeline on my to do  list  yes it is still there and getting  longer  but  my list  has  gone from doing small things  in life  like the  i******g to life changing things so its taking a little longer to achieve them.(same for the i******g)

To Do List
*Learn to  Drive (  theory  taken -passed now have a deadline to  pass before it runs out  so  lessons are in hand and I'm  doing ok  may be a while before test but  I'm loving being behind a wheel and I even have my own little blue bug  whoo hoo !!!!!!)
* Sort wardrobe out ( its in hand  sort of  well  no  its  not    its  one that gets put on the back  burner but I will  get to  it)
 * Enrol in course at college  ( open day  at the end of the 'month so I'm going to see if I can get on a part-time course to add to my  skills
* Use my  sewing  machine - ha ha   cant  see that happening I haven't  used it  since  I bought it  but  the  thought is  there
*Finish decorating living room (  that's an ongoing  project and  its coming along slowly)
*Take  time  for  family  and friends( need to do this  more  I  miss  loads)
*Tackle the  ir****ng (  okay  I will  do some of the mountain  have done a pile today   so pleased with my self )

Sunday, 13 January 2013

Well I was going to make a post on Wednesday but that went awol ..

so  to  today ........I've got a little bit of quiet time  while homework is being done(well it best be ) and I've just got my shopping in from being delivered....Yes I said delivered I've already been told off by Hubby for not letting him do it  (I'll let you into a secret  He doesn't get all of what I want as he's one that sticks to the list and  doesn't deviate from it   I know in an ideal world that's good  but sometimes you want the BOGOF deals or the American snacks from a well known shop as you have an addiction to them (NOT allowed while going to zumba in the week  but at the weekend treat time!!!!!)
So while I'm waiting I'm having a cuppa in my January bargain from Denby I could say not so much a bargain  as it was 3 times the price I'd normally pay  for a dinner service but I've always wanted  a denby dinner service ever since drinking from a cup at a friends house  half price was a good way to start my collection I think.
My week well its been good and positive from my point of view. The boys have not argued as much as I thought  they would and work went OK . Aidan's B'day meal  was enjoyed on  Monday at the harvester and  my  zumba sessions hurt as I knew they would do ( no gain without pain they say ) The   healthy eating has started, breakfasts again from Monday. Breakfast is not a meal I really look forward to  unless its more brunch but I'm  going to give it a go.
My crafting prowess of the week was making play dough
recipe : 2 cups flour,1 cup salt, tsp cream of tartar and tbsp oil  1 cup of boiling water (with a few drops of  food colouring  and 1-2 drops of fragrance if required)
quick and easy and ready to go.
Well today  I'm  going to make some  thumb print cakes and get some chocolate play dough made  before I tackle the mountain of ironing
hugs  everyone catch you in the week  :) xxxx

Sunday, 6 January 2013

Okay so the last post went well.........

........ as did the cake for Aidan's b'day not much left now in fact the last piece got eaten by me as it was just sitting there screaming out to me eat me.....(so regret it after as sides are now splitting jeans)
I'd put up a picture of Aidan however at 15 years old he turns into the illusive pimpernel and very camera shy, avoiding any  public affection or attention he possibly can,you are lucky to only get a snap shot of back of head as he runs for the hills when the camera is out or you may be able to get an abstract shot while  engaged in other activities lol.Wildlife is easier to catch.
So ive just got my card for Aidan to show you. It was a quick and well a very simple creation to say the least as going through my available craft stuff (as its all in the cold shed apart from  printer and computer) I found very little to interest Aidan at all. He is really into is his Xbox and phone  at the moment what teenager isn't so I'm afraid it was  a sticker of  Assassins Creed and simple greeting (He loves it ) lucky really  ....... it could have been the dinosaur with the happy Birthday balloons.Maybe next year. I'm pleased it came out ok.
Can I just say a huge thank you to  peeps that have commented on my comeback it is really heart warming and quite reassuring I'm not speaking to myself ( I thought I was for a few moments as in Shirley Valentine talking to a wall  or a microwave I'm often finding myself doing that................. is it an age thing ??? ......... not remembering Shirley Valentine movie (you can Google it , a good film if I remember right but talking to inanimate objects.)

Anyway  it's back to work for me  tomorrow all doom and gloom I hear you say, but actually I'm looking forward to the normality again. Not so much the work aspect but being able to get into some sort of  routine. It's a return to the weekly zumba  ritual which is desperately needed as I'm spreading over the sofa let alone out of clothes(it feels like it anyhow) Hubby will be back in the kitchen being a domestic (god good thing too don't tell him I said that ) as it stays tidy when he's in charge. I'm cooking a roast today and there are pans all over the place LOL.
So peeps I will catch you all very soon and leave you with something to think about this week.

Christmas has come and gone and ..........

the new year has been welcomed in and the old well that's shoved out with the cobwebs and piled high with the junk I had accumulated. OMG what junk do we collect and most of it I can say is tat  and stuff  kept e just for the sake of maybe someday I will use it  day ..........well I've had enough of MAYBE  if its not used its going...... going.....gone. I'm heading for minimalists for 2013 and  hopefully slim downed in size and life and got rid of non necessities (hubby NOT being one of them as he still has  uses and makes me LOL).
SO what  else have I done ...................errrrrrrr  Whoop of Joy I've finished reading a book Reflected in you by  Sylvia Day (one of those saucy but enjoyable reads that I couldn't put down) Now I just have to wait for the third instalment to be written grrrr  .......  don't you just hate that, by the time the next ones out I will have forgotten the characters and have to read all three books again. The good thing about 50 shades they were all out  together  when I read them (although I didn't feel the need for the third one but that's my opinion hey ho).
So I am now reading something light hearted and hilarious after the first three paragraphs when I have my cuppa coffee Miranda Harts is it just  me  I have to say  no it is not just  her as I too have been caught by the Life Eh situations and I'm sure will be caught by  many  more. If you want a good read please pick up her book or you can download the first chapter for free on kindle even that will put a smile on your face for an afternoon
Now my afternoon has been spent  making the most awesomeness cake ( is there a word awesomeness  probably not but hey ho)  I've been baking  Aidan's B' day cake today  and I thought  I'd blog about it too as  I've decided my blog is going back to its roots of  something to share over a cuppa of something and what crafting I've done or not done  this year and we will see how things go.
I've come off all  DT's but still  keep my updates on what peeps have been doing so I will leave the links up etc and add new ones I'm sure as needed or wanted.
I lost my  mojo in 2012  with losing  close family so 2013 is a journey to get it back.

So my first task of the year Aidan's b'day cake and card if I get round to it but first his cake he's  15 years old this year ( my where did that time go :)

So to Chocolate cake everyone's favourite
I used a classic sponge recipe from my great British bake off book (all
in good book shops or check on line ) for a Victoria sponge and substituted 25 g of cocoa powder from the S.R flour to make it chocolaty. I realised once I cooked it I could have doubled the recipe for a huge cake but  there you  have it I don't think ahead doh! moment so in the oven it went for half an hourish until pricking tool was clean and sponge was bouncy. Now of course I licked the bowl and spatula once it was all cooking  before washing up  and preparing the butter cream No kids were in so some one has too !!
and the next thing once cooled was toDecorate it.My friends  on FB recently  made a cake using   chocolate fingers   and as they are one of Aidan's favourite biscuits  I figured Id use them too so 2 and a half  packets later and loads of butter cream (can you keep butter cream as I have loads left over ?) we have walls and its looking a good cake to me  that is  until put something on top I've used two packets of  twirl bites only because  I couldn't find any smarties  and...............
      Ta da

One finished cake already for tomorrow and the bonus is we have fingers and chocolate left over although after Christmas the last thing I want to see is chocolate but hey ho
...............................................what do do with this lot  mmmmmmmm
once  the rest of the family see them  they will be gone I'm sure

So there you  have it  first  blog  for 2013 and I'm off for my cuppa and get tea sorted  next task B'day card by tomorrow.  Mmmmnnnn  we will see
Catch ya laters

Whimsy DT call

oh  yes  I'm  still  here ........ ( so sorry for being  major awol )
I'm  full of cold and  working  my  butt off  at the moment  with my new roles in the school I'm working in.
I have dabbled again in crafting but nothing to shout about at all my mojo is still on permanent vacation it seems. I  think its gone on a world tour
However I am still  eager to get back to it  my shed is organised now and  family life is steadily settling down I'm so proud of them all in their own individual way.

 Any way
Whimsy are having a design team call
and I must say its a fabby team to be on
 here's the details and link

The sun is out the sky is blue ...........

there are loads of things for me to do and yes now it is raining (again)....................making a post seemed the right thing to do today.
I've been asked where am I and what have I been doing as there has not been a post since let me see (scroll down a bit   ...... June  wow  its  August now.
It's well over a month since my last entry ....Well I've been up to ........ errrr well  not much since the end of term really I watched my friend get hitched and have a fantastic wedding day .Saw the fabulous edition of the whimsy ezine, I've  relaxed ,I've tried to stay on the right eating regime.I'm still going to zumba and trying not to  kill myself with exercise
We have had some fab days out as a family a visit to drayton manor was eventful to say the least but  loads of fun  with thrill rides and the zoo.
I've decorated the stairs with hubby (still need to paint them ) I'm  half way through wallpapering the living room (just waiting for the polyfilla to dry before I hang the next lot of wallpaper in there )

My craft shed well  that's been sorted and stripped of naff and down right yukky stuff and I'm rearranging some of the storage methods at the moment and  I'm going to brighten up the space next week once my stairs are painted (will be using the left over white paint ) my mojo is still  in the atmosphere somewhere and refusing to return  but  I know it will as I'm  getting  itching fingers and hubby has moved into my shed  painting little men again so I think he will need to be removed  sooner rather than later.
I could say Ive not done much but reading back Ive done a bit
Oh and I have read the famous trashy trilogy twice over and thrown in a bit of baking too

I'm off to visit  friends soon so  my mojo  may make an appearance sooner rather than  later(I hope)
and  you will be the first to see I promise.
Hope the rain stops for you to see the rainbow
