I got a quiet Christmas which I am thankful for
and now the table is cleared.
a space again to play with my craft stuff.
I wonder how long it will be before I will start taking down the christmas cards and decorations

Last cards from me for this year

and yes they are my last Christmas cards for 2008 too
Two very quick cards from some free papers from card making and paper craft magazine. I just cut and decoupaged and mounted them up very quickly with a bit of glitter added to the cuffs and Santa's beard.
Am I prepared for Christmas and the New Year ?
Well for Christmas no.. but I never am and this year has not had that special twinkle for me so hopefully 2009 will be better.

Here's a sneak peek of the new blog outlay for 2009

Have a wonderful Christmas and I'll have some new treats for you on Jan 1st

The Snowman

Woo hoo my camera finally decided to work again
and this is sort of what I had in mind for a quick card I have loads of these packets of tissues 10p per pack from the local shop.
Using the top layer from two of the tissues I fixed one to the card and frayed the edges then with the other I attached it to a piece of card and cut out the main figures and decoupaged it, added a little glitter and voila a simple Christmas card.
Ive always known this as the napkin technique it is really effective.

What a weekend.....

Had our little angel over again this weekend
while her mum went to her works Christmas Party and she was wonderful ,
Even at 4:30am in the morning.
Pheobes happy little face was saying lets play.
Nanny was saying Id forgotten what this time of the morning looked like,
even cbeebies doesnt wake up til 6am LOL
The cold has spread to the other members of the family now and Joshua now has boy flu LOL
All I can hope for is that its all gone by xmas.

Friday, 12 December 2008

OOOH this chill factor....

....and cold had me making a blue one

The same whiff of joy stamp used with copics again and some snowflake backing paper I glittered up a bit. Ive not been able to go in the shed Boo hoo as the electrics went and nearly fried the plug socket so Hubby is going to fix it hopefully before next week but it means I've moved some essentials into the house
he..he..he......see how long it takes before its back in the shed and not on the table.

Anyone want a cold.....

I feel lousy with it and it has zapped my energy to do anything, let alone get crafty.
Ive managed to make a few cards to show you but until this grotty blanket lifts all I want to do is wrap up and watch a few dvds on the tv.
whats your favourite movie to snuggle down too when your ill ?
Oh the posties just been,I think the movie can wait
my stampin up order has arrived oooooh goody
Thanks Jules
I can feel fingers wanting to play again LOL

Christmas is rich with Red and Gold ....

....and red is my favourite colour

So this charlie stamp from Whiff of Joy had to have a red jumper.
I coloured him with Copics, glittered a couple of snowflakes
and mounted him onto a Christmas paper.
I have no idea where the paper came from
so if you can enlighten me I would much appreciate it as it was my last piece LOL

Proud Uncles....

Finally managed to get a photo of the boys with their Niece Pheobe

Just wait til she gets all his toys.

Wednesday, 3 December 2008

Its raining well.....

........ actually its started to snow here not alot but a flurry
Here in the UK its all stop as soon as the first flake falls but any hoo I managed to get to use my new SU tab punch on this card its come in so handy this last month with organising my folders let alone cards
The stamps from Whiff of Joy, papers simply elegant from papermania, I used copics to colour and distress round the edges, a bit of ribbon, tag and a few corners some glittered with stickles

A Set of Snowflakes

All Done Phew....
I was asked to make 2 card sets by my sister
With a lot of help from my PTI stamps sets snowflake additions and Silent Night
I've managed to get them done (It was looking dodgy if I managed to make them in time)
Heres one of the many I had to make.
I might even be done before Christmas with my cards LOL

Christmas Tapestry Stamps

I always forget I have these little beauties in my stamp box yet when I use them I love them.
It was the recent play day of a group of imag-e-nation forum buddies that reminded me to get them out and I'm so glad I did.
I used distress inks antique linen and walnut stain on the topper to age it a bit and a PTI Silent night sentiment.

And pass the tag on to 7 more people, so here it goes
Where do I start, I can't guarantee they will be interesting
1. I hate drying up the washed pots, drip dry is my philosophy not so Hubby's lol.
2. Im always writing a to do list and never get half of it done.Where does the time go I'm sure someones hiding a few minutes here and there.
3.Im a sucker for chocolate especially Throntons Continental Ive been known to fight over a vienesse truffle
4.My favourite colour has to be red.Its so rich and warming.I always smile when I see it.
5. I absolutley loathe marzipan Christmas cakes not too hot either They look lovely but still cringe when I think of the marzipan
6. I love to have an afternoon watching films like Beaches and Stealing magnolia's
without anyone in the house as they make me cry

Sunday already

Can't believe the weekend has gone so quick...
I had a delivery yesterday of my pink bind it all
Still waiting for some stamps to come though
when your waiting for delivery's they never come when you want them to.
so all the cards I wanted to finish will have to wait til Monday afternoon now
Think I'll make the most of today catching up with projects that are half finished you know the ones that sit in that box and you look at them everyday and think I'll make that into something and it never gets done
Debbie has some fabulous candy up for grabs
as well as Kristine has some wonderful candy too

Flippin sheets from La Pashe

The footballer from the La Pashe range at
I was going to mount him onto an aperture card but then thought a little, and used him as a topper. The reverse image I'm using on another footballer card so two cards will be made out of one sheet.

Monday, 17 November 2008

I've got an orange theme going on

at the moment I think
It's strange how seasons affect your crafting,I've been into browns, oranges and reds of late. I loved this image so much I just had to make another card with it.
Coloured again in copics, with some dcwv and stamp in up papers. I used the orange blog candy ribbon from Katie on this card as I love it I keep finding myself stroking my ribbon stash.
I know I'm sad but you know you all have a piece of paper or embellishment that you'd love to use but it just stays in your stash looking pretty LOL .

My Mums been at it again....

Thought I'd share with you all .
Oh I wish I could crotchet
These little cuties were made from a pattern in her head ( she's too talented for her own good, my mum ) after she had seen something similar while on holiday in Italy.
She set to work and had made some of these up to hang on the Christmas tree.
She had me looking on the Internet for a fabric stiffener product called stiffy to help them stand up on their own (you can imagine what my search unveiled before I found it LOL) and now she's making them to order for an up and coming Christmas fair for my sister .

November fireworks......

And Yes Ive got my camera back working
This card has been waiting patiently to be photographed for the last week
The image is from spiral whispers,Kitty has some lovely images,
I was spoilt for choice when I was shopping on her site .
Ive coloured it with copic markers (note to self write down No's I used)
and then I found some dcwv papers for the background Ive had for ages so no idea where you would get them now.
I used the stickles I got from Katie's blog candy for the firework I love stickles

Thursday, 13 November 2008

I think Ive blown up my camera

and in the process my computer usb port
as it made a very strange sizzle sound when I plugged it in today to upload some new card pictures. My camera just shut off and hasnt blinked since Im hoping its just the batteries have died but it doesnt look good ( Told you it was on the way out ) So I will try and scan them tomorrow although I know the image wont be great from the scanner but hey ho us crafters will find an alternative one way or another.
Good news though Pheobe is on the mend and playing mum up so she's getting back to normal.

Have been babysitting a little angel

A poorly angel but she still shines when I see her.

Three little Carolers....

Yes I did it One of Taylor's sketches tecc41
I just had to stamp these little fellows up as soon as they arrived this week
I coloured them with my copics, used dcwv papers again and used a ribbon tag with some purple ribbon from my stash.
I just love purples as an alternative for Christmas
I apologise for the picture quality though my camera is on its way out I think and I will have to invest in a new one

Remember....90 years Anniversary This year.

In Flanders Fields
by John McCrae, May 1915
In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead.
Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields
Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields

Another up

I got this award from a wonderful person Jackie check out her blog shes a girl who knows how to have a laugh and a cry sometimes.

Thank you Hunny I love it
I'll sort out who to pass it on to in a bit

A week of ups and downs....

That ended in an up for me.
Yes we had a visit from Pheobe and her mum again and she was an angel
Its a practice run for her mum to leave her with her Nan for the first time as we have to babysit on Monday while Steph goes to a family funeral (not a place for babies)
and she was wonderful for her Nan while Steph went out hope Monday she is as good.
So my cards have been on hold and I guess I'd best get started again over the rest of the weekend
Enjoy your weekend all

Spooky... Ooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhh

With Halloween coming up very soon now my little monster threw a pumpkin in the trolley when we were shopping yesterday (as well as ghoulish fingers, Darth Vader outfit and a light up skull) and I've carved my first pumpkin tonight that doesn't need to go in the bin (we normally have to go out and buy another one as I've destroyed the last one while carving I think I'm a bit eager with a knife )

Only thing is now hubby wants to go out and buy another one so we have a pair for the front step
Weird or what

Ive done it and took the plunge.....

Into a few things lol
Ive changed my blog background from the cutest blog on the they have the most adorable backgrounds I was spoilt for choice from their free range .
I'd love to make my own like this but time is against me it seems at the moment.
And Ive succumbed to the SU(stampin Up) range.
I think my purse will be empty more often with their lovely range available.
My prayers and hugs go out to my friends experiencing a difficult time at the moment.

Tuesday, 28 October 2008

Officially the end of British summer Time tonight

It is that time of the year again for us in the UK when the clocks have to go back to GMT for the winter. Okay so we get an extra hour in bed but its the final warning that winter is on its way and the way the bitter wind has been blowing today it doesn't seem that far off. I'm off to snuggle up with a hot chocolate and yes with Marshmallows in it for extra snuggle. Have a good weekend

Pass the penguin on

I just picked this little chap up from Jackie's blog.

Feel free to take him over to your blog too.

This is something very close to my heart as my mum had breast cancer just over 10 years ago and recovered after a alot of chemo/radiology and a partial mastectomy. She's always onto us (my sister and I) to get our boobs checked and keep an eye on them for any changes. So if this reminder prompts someone and saves a life then all the better.

The boys school is holding a wear pink day on Friday for this very cause but both of them have said "Do we have to wear pink?" Josh has opted for a pink badge to wear which I will be making for him and Aidan well the furthest we can get is for him to dye his hair maybe he'll wear a badge too. LOL

Breast Cancer awareness month

Background change hmmmnnn Im undecided if I like it

I know I've been messing again but as OH is still to decorate the stairs and landing. I thought Id decorate my blog well try to,LOL So far all Ive managed to do is replace the white background managed to delete my sigi Ooops and change the fonts I'm in a really weird mood today so it may be changed again yet If in doubt I can always go back to the original again. Enjoy the rest of the weekend folks
Think I'll go and make some cards instead LOL
By the way more candy available from Jen go check it out and from Jill and Joanne theres even more

Lavender everybody loves

Lavender well most do LOL
Had to make the quickest card ever
it was needed in 10 Min's with my friend hovering over my shoulder for it to be done.
Hence the peel off ( she couldn't wait for ink to dry LOL)
Just a floral arrangement mounted onto some lavender card stamped with polka dot basics(this was already done and just needed cutting to size) I found this backing paper amongst the stash I have it was a b***er to fix to the card but I managed it. A scrap of card from once upon a time and a pull bow to finish.

Jolly snowman

I just love this snowman he looks so happy.
I made this card for a challenge on the imag-e-nation forum
A bit of fun, the card had to be green red and white.I did enjoy colouring him in.I used distress inks on him this time and wow they are so easy to use I can see the appeal with using them and I think I will be using them more now for some of my images.

Supplies:Stamp penny black ,Red,green and white card stock from PDA cards, peel off from imag-e-nation,oval nestabilities and cuttlebug embossing snowflake folder and little snowflakes from stash.
