I think I need a drink ......

I've not been able to do much crafting as my house has sprung a leak and all the stuff that was piled up in my kitchen,no not ironing as that was all done in the hols ,but all the other stuff that needed to be put somewhere,so my crafting den has been taken over while we wait for a plumber to put his finger on the problem. And what a problem it is as he started to dig up the house (thankfully from the outside )with a bash here and a lot of mud and a big hole later, my puddle that was becoming a pond has been averted until Monday when hopefully he will return to sort the rest of the hole out.
So if any one has a glass of wine spare drop me one off I think I need one. On a good note the kids are sorted for Halloween will take piccies tomorrow before we go out and ransack the street.

Hippo Clip

Now this was a quirky little thing I made for a challenge and I thought it was a cutie, ideal for a quick gift. You could make it into a magnet instead of a bookmark clip as a topper the uses are multiple, you could make make an entire safari of animals (remember the lion).
I used the SU small oval punch for ears and nose
scallop punch for the teeth circle punch for the head and small circle for the eyes
All punches are from Stampin Up

A bit of class .....

Christmas is getting closer and that means craft fairs and holding stalls while drinking mulled wine and listening to Carols by the tree. Well that was last years run up to the festive season and I hope this year will be the same. I have been getting things ready like Santa's keys reindeer dust, snowman soup, snowman kisses and the normal nibblers that go down well at these events but this year I'm making some card box sets up
Here's one of them using the baroque stamp set as a Christmas stamp(my apologies for the photo my camera doesn't seem to like black, white and glitter) however I can tell you where you see the baroque motif stamp I have used glitter to give it a bit of dazzle.
I've used the oval and circle punches to create the baubles and added greetings to each card.
All supplies are Stamping Up
apart from the ribbon and border punch

Im hoping to use this box set at my next class for details contact

Im so proud ...

My son asked me for 40p on Wednesday, nothing new there kids asking for money, but then I found out it was for a hat he was making at school. I had visions of heaps of creations (as a mum does)then I saw what he'd made and I was chuffed and so proud. He has been taking DT (design and technology)and has learned to use a sewing machine and made his own winter hat.
Now you may think it normal for some kids to make stuff at school but Aidan has an aversion to anything creative so making his own hat is a miracle in my eyes and here he is wearing it
Right I'm off to get some work done enjoy your weekend and
Happy Birthday Owen

A Winters Tall post box

Brrrrr this one gives the chill of winter with all that glorious snow
a typical Christmas scene I think withthe winter village and post box
but whats so cute is the little westie dog behind the post box
(wonder if he got caught short out in the cold lol)

Isnt the weather gorgeous

...and its given me time to have a play in my shed without the heater on(but I'm sure those days will come soon enough) Can you believe its nearly half term, which means that Christmas is just around the corner. Ive been getting a head start on my Christmas cards and gifts and when my Christmas Jingles scrappin kit came. I just had to see what could be made from it
Here's a few for my ever growing collection

Witches brewing ...

I just had to add this picture of my eldest daughter and her daughter Pheobe, having a dress up day, I love it.

Oohh have you noticed I'm adding a few more bits to this blog. I'm going through the change well not the change but the blog is changing Its mostly due to the new Stampin UP IDA coming in November. Cardsncandles will be merging with this one very soon. and there after updating this one more. (hopefully more anyhow) So if you have cards n candles in your favourites you will need to change it to this one

Home-made Glue dots

Yep I had to give it a go after seeing the You Tube footage

Jak had mentioned about it the other day.
So I used stamporium ultimate adhesive as I don't have the Aleene's tack it over
but it WORKED!!!
home made dots and cheap to make too

Oh a very good tip: put it somewhere out of the way to dry or when your looking for a piece of card you can accidentally pick it up and get glue dotted ( I did )
