Sorry for being a bad blogger this week...

......but we have been making preparations for Aidan's Operation as well as working overtime ,fitting in parents day (what happened to the evening) and painting the kitchen.
Some of you may or may not know but Aidan our eldest son has cerebral palsy which luckily only affects his left leg and left arm slightly. Since knowing he has the condition Aidan has go through wearing casts on his leg for a few weeks at a time and splints along with electrodes to stimulate his leg.All to assist in his walking, however as he's grown physio and splints have not helped and his leg position has worsened and its now that the hospital surgeon will do something about it and give him surgery which hopefully will let him walk with a normal gait (like you or me).
The first of the preparations began this week to get him ready for his op in the summer and he is having to wear yet another a cast on his leg which will be replaced weekly and his ankle stretched. Its going to be a long process but one we hope worth it.
I managed to get a shot of his cast but Aidan is very shy when the camera is out.
Hope to bring you some more cards over the weekend as long as the last coat of paint goes well in the kitchen oooer !!!!!
Enjoy the bank holiday

Today is the day Oh dread ...........

the day for what you say ..........
Getting fit again
I wont say diet as I don't think diets work its healthier eating and a bit of exercise that works. Since giving up smoking I knew some weight would go on and I have been pounding the chocolate like a woman possessed however the craving for cigarettes has surpassed and I know I have to get back in shape now as my clothes are tight and I refuse to buy new just so I can fit in them.
So today I threw out all the junk chopped up my carrot sticks and prepared my sugar free jelly.

Wish me luck

This Mo Manning image is so true to life my girls always had this face and often still do if they cant get their own way and they are both adults now lol
I thought I'd enter this one for the Mo's Guest designer call on Digital Pencil. Why not
Mo had a fab sketch to use and I love Mo's images, you may have guessed with the many cards I've done lol

I followed the sketch Mo set up for May's GD
Image coloured with copics
papers by papermania
glittered the flowers a bit with stickles
Here's a close up

Enjoy the rest of the sunshine,
tomorrow it is supposed to be a scorcher, for April anyway lol.

I found an umpa lumpa in my cubby

Oh my hubby is going to kill me for this shot but I couldn't resist it.
He has set to work on the kitchen and decorating today after yesterdays shopping trip round DIY stores
How many shades of white can you get, then the one you want they don't do in kitchen and bathroom paint grrrr

No my kitchens not that small but we are starting in the cubby so I have somewhere else than my craft shed to store stuff.
Here's a shot of the new floor and appliances back in, well the cooker anyhow until we have decorated the fridge freezer is still in my living room handy for a drink or snack but not so when watching a film and the cooler sets in lol

OK tea break over I have a card to post later
(that's if Hubby hasn't painted me into the wall Oops)

Monthly Blog Challenge

Yes We've had another challenge on the La Pashe DT and this month the theme was "SPRING " Now spring means alot of things for me its normally a time of the year for it to get warmer and time for a good clean around the house and when I get more friendly as Hubby would say and less like the grizzly bear (I've no idea what he means lol) Anyway back to crafting.
SO when it came to a card I had to use the lady gardener stamp from the Flippen Women range. Ive triple stamped the Bunny's from the rear stamp to create the front image then coloured with distress inks and twinkling h2o's. Ive not used my distress ink in ages and Tim Holtz has bought out some more, I can feel a spend coming on. Check out Karen's blog to see what she's done and then Lydia's too.

My Kitchen disaster.... Oh dear

Oh what a day
It was an start early removing all the furniture from the Kitchen and having the cooker disconnected by 10am the work had started and the floor was being ripped up.Well it was worse than I thought when the tiles had gone up,there's alot of water damage from that small leak.

the new floor needs to be levelled now so we cant enter the kitchen for 12-24 hours and it will mean the whole kitchen needs a revamp now .
Don't think hubby is pleased as that will mean disruption for a while longer

Awwwwee my poor cooker lonely under cover from the rain,no cooker means dinner out at the local pub for the family.
Some good comes from the upheaval lol.

Distressed ......Im not but this card is

.... and boy did I go at it with the distresser and ink I'm covered now lol.I'm making the most of the peace and quiet and sunshine outside (photo's come out so much better with real daylight)and I'm staying out the way of workers in the kitchen.
I just hope the rain stays away as my washer and tumble dryer and half my kitchen are outside while the kitchen floor gets ripped up.
Its a HAnglar and StAnglar image I've used again I just love this one its so cute. I've used my stash of papers so have no clue who they are by, all I know is I love them lol.

Craftrak card

Now these I have to say I enjoy making as I can use up all my little bits of lush paper and miscellaneous toppers and still bring a smile to someone. I demoed these while at the craft fair in February and I had a ball while I was there ( it was a hard slog too honest lol). When the Craftrak website went live I became a member and I received my first craftrak card last week from Craftcrazy. It brightened up my day so I've made a few more and here's one ready to go off in the post on Monday

I'm seeing circles.....

.....a lot in this card wow what a fab decoupage.I did some more hunting in my stash and found this keen biker along with a formula 1 driver. Its been a while since I did a mans/boys card so here's a fun one. The backing paper I think is a freebie from one of the many magazines I have strewn round the place and the stamps are SU and Paper trey. Its still sunny here so I'm soaking it up while I can. This one I'm going to put up for the create4fun challenge 16

ooh another sketch to follow ......

As you know I've been blog hopping this week but as the sunshine came out today I thought it was time to get back in the shed and use some of the inspiration I've found on some more cards.
I've used the inspirational card sketch 62 for my card this time. Its a fab sketch from their challenge blog and I used my new.... yes new hAnglar and stAnglar stamps ( thanks Marlene for the tip)I've used some flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts that arrived today in a huge box. and my RST azelea stamps came out again to add a bit of edge to the image I've ordered some more flowers as they are so lush and yummy (thanks BevR for the heads up on these).
Right I'm off to get some fish and chips and might even sit and eat them in the evening sun
: )

Oooh I forgot to show you these.......

Yes its the invites I've been working on for the last few weeks (months it seems lol).I had forgotten how much went in to a simple invite. The invite, response card, directions and accommodation. Oh and gift list.
Thankfully the bride and groom wanted to keep it simple and this layout is simple although after 100+ it doesn't seem so simple lol.
(Ive smudged out the personal details)
Now all that's left to do is the order of service, confetti cones, table layouts, menu cards and thank you cards
Oh boy I might be busy for a while lol

Taking a break......

Yep... we had a family break away from the house and turmoil on Saturday and went to a local attraction Dobbies and Plantasia I figured all our interests would be covered, hubby enjoyed feeding the huge carp and wildlife as well as the garden centre and the weather was a bonus being nice too.

( the men folk feeding the fish )
The kids well Josh just loves animals and the outdoors as you know it was hard keeping up with him as he went off to investigate everything

( Josh trying to see what else is inside a chicken house lol )
Myself and Aidan followed the trail and stamped our way round
once we got the stamp to work lol

(Aidan taking a breather and caught off guard by Dad )
And the wildlife was just inspiring
This couple were so sweet preparing for their new arrivals.

Then we spent a fun hour or so losing ourselves in the 6 mazes by the end of the day all of us were shattered let alone the kids and I must remember to take a hat and sunglasses next time we are out the headache afterward would have been avoided.
I'm off to get some crafting done this afternoon so catch you later

Why do they give the kids two weeks off at Easter...

when all the kids do is fight and argue for the entire time they are away from school. All the chocolate gets eaten by 3pm on Sunday,(they started after breakfast)not that they had loads this year as the boys had asked for DVDs instead of eggs,a much better investment for me too as they are quieter while watching the movies they had and not trying to kill each other. If you have children or a sibling you will know that as soon as the holidays arrive it is time to over annoy your brother or sister and drive mom up the wall in the process. I think this feature is built in and I'm still looking for the switch to change it back to the factory settings or silent mode
Its now only Wednesday and all I hear is I'm bored , what can I do?.....where can we go ?.....

All culinary interest lasted all of 10 minutes of preparation, until the oven timer went off and the creations were devoured before had time to get icing on them.
(must be lack of sugar since Sunday)
Eldest son has returned to the realms of Mordor and wartime heroes (xbox) so all we will hear is grunts and groans. While the youngest has offered his services to help Dad in prepare for next weeks upheaval and the kitchen being wrecked, all for the sake of a new floor.( Ive no idea what he charged but I'm sure it was substantial )
Oh the joys of holidays lol

Tomorrows events I hope will lighten them up(cant see it) as it entails a trip to the dentist , shoe hunting and the ever popular new clothes routine.
as I say why do they have 2 weeks off for Easter LOL

Cinema challenge 73

Wow... I found a challenge blog Cinema Saturday Creative challenge while hopping over the Easter break that speaks to my heart Crafting and Movies two of my favourites past times put together.
This weeks challenge is inspiration from Sense and Sensibility with Emma Thompson and Hugh Grant. It's one of my favourites to watch when all are out and its all calm and quiet.
The added element is keep it CAS (Clean and Simple)easier to say than do lol.
I had to use Stampin Up's speciality bridesmaid paper it is so lush. The greeting is from Paper Trey's woman of life stamp set and the cameo is from my stash just waiting to be used on a classic card like this along with some ribbon.
Oh and I must say a thank you to Beewendy from imag-e-nation forum for her instructions for the padded effect (you might not be able to tell in this picture due to the light) but in the flesh the card pops. I'm off for a cuppa now and replace the heat pad on my shoulder.
: )

Just to let you know

I'm having a spring clean of my blog aswell as my house, all will be resumed very soon so bare with me it always happens this time of year I think it must be the effect of longer daylight hours and sunny spells ( in between the snow ) we are having at the moment.
Enjoy the easter break
: )

Once its scone .......its scone ......

Okay so this is my first attempt in 15 years to make scones.
(the last ones could have broken windows at 50 yards)
I've always avoided making them preferring to buy them, then I cant get it wrong lol.My buddy Viv has a fool proof scone recipe so today I had another go and voila scones not hockey pucks as hubby refers them when I made them last. They are really tasty and light with jam and cream. Now all I have to do is make them without the fruit as the boys prefer them plain, fussy lot my family
so this is to say a
